The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler
This book kickstarted me on a mini-romance binge. Picture this - December, mid reading slump, and a need for something fun to read.
The Tourist Attraction was everything I needed it to be!
Synopsis: (Taken from Goodreads)
When Graham Barnett named his diner The Tourist Trap, he meant it as a joke. Now he's stuck slinging reindeer dogs to an endless string of resort visitors who couldn't interest him less. Not even the sweet, enthusiastic tourist in the corner who blushes every time he looks her way…
Two weeks in Alaska isn't just the top item on Zoey Caldwell's bucket list. It's the whole bucket. One look at the mountain town of Moose Springs and she's smitten. But when an act of kindness brings Zoey into Graham's world, she may just find there's more to the man than meets the eye…and more to love in Moose Springs than just the Alaskan wilderness.
Review:
This was such a fun read. It was like I was playing a classic hallmark movie in my head while I read.
The setting of Moose Springs, Alaska was described so well that I wanted to go and visit it myself. I wanted to be immersed in the world of Zoey and Graham, eating reindeer dogs, and enjoying the Alaskan wilderness.
The way that Sarah described the characters, major and minor, brought so much life and vivacity to them. Although their squabbles were a bit dramatic at times, there was an element of honesty there - a sense of fear, love, and confusion.
This is part of a newly emerging series, but it is great as a stand alone read. Sometimes I really do not like series so finding a good stand alone is important to me!
The Tourist Attraction is a fun story of love, heartache, and taking a chance on something you want. If you are looking for something fun to read, look no further!
Teacher Recommendation
I would not recommend this to teenagers due to the amount of sexual tension and adult romance.
Happy reading!
